NR7: When historic architecture meets modern technology
Services provided:

A location with history, a project with vision
The reconstruction of the NR7 building at Náměstí Republiky 7 is an exceptional project in the very heart of Prague. A historic building with rich architectural value has been transformed to fully meet the requirements of the 21st century – in terms of comfort, energy efficiency and technical infrastructure – without losing its authenticity.
Technology vs. conservation: the battle and the interplay
The installation of modern technologies in a listed building is one of the biggest challenges in the construction industry. Standard solutions do not work here – everything must be individually adapted to the existing structures. Working with load-bearing vaults, thick walls and preserving historical details requires high expertise, creativity and the ability to improvise.
Technical management as the key to success
OMC played a key role in this project in coordinating technology and professions. Working closely with the designers, engineers and conservationists and dealing with changes quickly on site was essential to the smooth running of the whole project. A high level of responsiveness and precise planning enabled the complex technological solutions to be flawlessly integrated into the rugged historic building.
The power of partnership
Our key partners,
Spie – Štangl, Developtech and Klima Solution, also played a major role in the success of the project.
Their technical expertise, professional approach and ability to find solutions even in challenging conditions contributed significantly to the result.
The result that says it all
The NR7 project is not just a reconstruction of a historic building. It is proof that even listed architecture can, thanks to a professional approach and technological mastery, fully function to contemporary standards – while retaining its unique face.
